Benefits may include increased energy, enhanced immune support, improved hydration, relief from fatigue, and skin rejuvenation, better sleep, and overall wellness. They can help with nutrient deficiencies, low energy, or post-illness recovery by delivering 100% of nutrients directly to your tissues, far more efficiently than oral supplements. Many customers report feeling revitalized and more focused shortly after treatment.
Common ingredients include saline fluids, Vitamin C, B-complex vitamins, magnesium, zinc, and sometimes antioxidants like glutathione. Formulas are customised for individual needs and goals.
Yes, many people use IV infusions specifically for an energy lift and to support their immune system, especially during times of stress, illness recovery, or intense physical activity. Nutrients delivered intravenously can be more immediately bioavailable.
Yes, IV infusions rehydrate the body quickly and replace lost electrolytes and vitamins, which can help alleviate hangover symptoms more effectively than oral fluids alone.
You will start with a consultation to assess your health and customise your infusion. A nurse inserts a cannula. You may feel a small pinch or brief sting during needle insertion. Most find the process comfortable and relaxing once the infusion begins. You may feel a cold sensation in your arm; afterwards, you can resume normal activities feeling hydrated.
Sessions usually last between 45 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the formula and drip rate. while vitamin shots can take as little as 10 - 20 minutes. The effects like hydration and energy boost can be felt immediately or within a few hours.
Some people feel benefits soon after treatment, while others notice improvements over 12 - 24 hours, depending on individual health status and the nutrients received.
Frequency depends on your health goals, schedule and practitioners' recommendations. Some opt for weekly or monthly infusions, while others book only as needed for events, travel, periods of increased stress or how your body responds.
Yes, IV therapy is generally safe when administered by registered nurses or qualified professionals. Treatments are personalised and pre-screened to ensure safety and suitability for each client. Yes. People with certain medical conditions (like kidney problems, heart failure, or ongoing infections) may not be suitable. At Ivy Sisters, we screen for contraindications and may require a doctor’s note for some cases.
Not always. At Ivy Sisters, we might recommend a recent blood test to help tailor your infusion, but most do not require them for general wellness treatments. You should always disclose current supplements and medical history during booking. Ivy Sisters has access to comprehensive blood tests to gain personalised insights.
Australian health regulations (AHPRA and TGA) require a doctor’s prescription and a medical consultation before any IV vitamin infusion can be administered. Our mandatory $50 Scripting & Medical Consultation Fee covers your initial consultation and prescription. This one-off fee is valid for up to 12 IV infusions within a 12-month period, so you only pay it once per year (provided your health status hasn’t changed). This ensures we remain fully compliant and, most importantly, that your treatment is safe and tailored to you.
Costs vary by infusion type, typically ranging from $250 to $400 or more for custom blends. Basic treatments start around $250, with add-ons like higher nutrient doses increasing the price. A 12-script fee per year of $50 will apply for the first visit (TGA requirement for medical referral). Intramuscular shots start from $39.
Common side effects are rare and mild, like bruising, discomfort at the insertion site, or temporary fatigue as your body adjusts. Serious risks (e.g. infection, clotting, or allergic reactions) are uncommon with proper medical oversight. Ivy Sisters nurses monitor you during and after to minimise issues.
We are unable to offer an IV infusion to individuals under the age of 18.
Generally not recommended due to potential risks, even if no harm has been proven. Infusions are available with your doctors written approval. Always consult your healthcare provider.
